MHSAA Network

MHSAA Network

The MHSAA Network provides weekly video coverage of regular-season contests, and all MHSAA post-season tournaments. Watch your cable listings and the MHSAA Network Schedule for the announcement of upcoming games, and digital subscribers can visit the Video On Demand section of participating cable providers to see even more contests and highlights.

Video Options

All MHSAA Championships in 2011-12 will be available for viewing through FOX Sports Detroit.   Many events will be streamed live on the FoxSportsDetroit.com Website, and also be available for cable television viewing.

Live Finals coverage on FOX Sports Detroit and FOX Sports Detroit-PLUS will take place for the Football and Girls Volleyball Finals in the Fall; and the Ice Hockey Finals, Girls Basketball Finals and Boys Basketball Finals in the Winter.

Many other MHSAA Championships will be shown on FOX Sports Detroit on a delayed basis, and highlights shows recapping selected sports from the Fall, Winter and Spring campaigns will also air.

The entire FOX Sports Detroit cable package will also receive additional airtime on Comcast Channel 900.

Throughout the year, and in partnership with PlayON! Sports Midwest, the MHSAA Network will air hundreds of hours of regular season and post-season tournament game video.  Live and archived events can be found on MHSAA.tv, and Comcast Channel 900 will air games every week.  Check the schedule for updated Comcast air dates, and you can always check Comcast's On-Demand service for even more game choices.

DVDs of all MHSAA Network and Fox Sports Detroit games are available. Look for information on MHSAA.tv. In the spirit of good sportsmanship, orders will not be sent until after the season is over for current titles so that potential opponents of teams appearing on MHSAA telecasts cannot use these video for scouting purposes.

Audio Options

The MHSAA will provide live audio broadcasts of many championships throughout the year on MHSAAnetwork.com.  The network also includes a number of regular season games broadcasted by host schools.

Also, each week throughout the school year the MHSAA will post a weekly school sports commentary called "MHSAA Perspective."

Efforts To Expand MHSAA Network Need Your Help

Since its launch in the fall of 2008, the MHSAA Network has created over 1,000 hours of original programming of regular season and MHSAA tournament contests, enjoyed in over one million homes in the Lower Peninsula served by Comcast Channel 900.

The MHSAA and PlayON! Sports Midwest continue to work at securing additional cable clearances with other providers in non-Comcast service areas – another 800,000-plus homes. It’s one thing for those folks to hear from us that fans want to see high school games on their cable systems – it’s a much more powerful request when it comes from their customers.

We encourage you that if you live outside Comcast’s service area to call your local cable provider and tell them that you want to see MHSAA Network programming in your community. Among those providers are:

School Broadcast Program

The School Broadcast Program was launched in to provide schools with a safe place to stream video of their athletic and non-athletic school events, provide a hands-on learning experience for students interested in video production, and serve as an exciting new fundraising platform.

Just over 20 schools, most of them from the Capital Area Activities Conference in Mid-Michigan, participated in the pilot project in 2009-10, and produced over 600 events that were streamed live (non-athletic events) and on-demand (athletic events) on the MHSAA.TV Website.  More than double that number of events were produced in 2010-11, and 2011-12 will be another record-setting year for content.

The MHSAA.tv Website is now being populated with content from member schools from both peninsulas participating in the Digital Broadcasting Program.  A total of 65 schools are involved in the program from the Big 8 Conference, Big 9 Conference, Detroit Catholic High School League, Charter School Conference, Downriver League, Flint Metro League, Genesee Athletic Conference, Huron League, Kalamazoo Valley Association, Kensington Lakes Activities Association, Macomb Area Conference, Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League, Northwest Conference, Oakland Activities Association, O-K Conference, Saginaw Valley League, Southeastern Conference, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference (Big 16), Tri-Valley Conference, West Michigan D League, West-Pac Conference and the Wolverine Conference.
