Requirements

  • Five (5) skills
  • At least one (1) from each category (flexibility, jumping, tumbling)
  • No more than three (3) skills from 12 point level OR
  • One (1) skill from the 14 point level and two (2) from 12 point level.

  • Not performing one skill each from flexibility, jumping and tumbling categories.

    SJ – 35 points – a required skill was not performed.


  • Performing too many 12 or 14 point skills.

  • The spotter is not touching, watching, or away.
  • Penalty – Seven (7) points assessed by Safety Judge.

  • A skill/stunt not allowed by NFHS Spirit Rules Book.
  • A skill/stunt not allowed by MHSAA.
  • A stunt performed without a spotter when a spotter is required.
  • Penalty – Fourteen (14) points assessed.

Incorrect Performance – Safety Judge Deduction
  • Round 2 Precision Drill and skills are illustrated and described so each team will perform the correct hand, body, leg positions.
  • If the entire team is performing parts of the Precision Drill or skill incorrectly, it has been taught incorrectly, therefore warrants a 14 point Safety Judge deduction.

Execution Errors – Cheer Judge Deduction
  • If parts of the Precision Drill or skills are performed incorrectly by some of the team members.
  • Panel Judges deduct for Execution Errors.
    • i.e. - Arm, body, leg placement, blades vs. fist, did not end the skill correctly

    • Penalty – 35-point deduction
  • Must provide difficulty & variety points expected

  • A team can earn up to five (5) points in this category if its execution is 17.5 or above.
  • This category has been added to encourage good execution.
