2006-07 Sport Division Listings

NOTE: The following lists are as of May 15, 2006, and will not be modified. Changes will only appear as tournament assignments/draws are made for each sport, as shown on each sport's home page.

On March 30, 2006 schools were sent a memorandum which notified them that MHSAA tournament division lists were being posted on mhsaa.com for most sports for which MHSAA tournaments are conducted in equal divisions. At that time schools were advised:

Lists for Ice Hockey, Lower Peninsula Girls Golf, Girls Soccer, Lower Peninsula Boys Swimming & Diving and Lower Peninsula Girls Swimming & Diving were being delayed until May 15, 2006 so that they would better reflect the situation of those schools that have been involved in a cooperative agreement with combined enrollment in excess of 3500 students and by rule change of 2002 may not continue to operate after the 2005-06 school year.

If in May the MHSAA Representative Council approved recommendations to reclassify an MHSAA Tournament for 2006-07, alternative lists would be posted approximately May 15, 2006 for the sports involved. That is the case for

Girls Competitive Cheer: from Class A, Class B and Class C/D
to four equal divisions.

Boys & Girls Skiing: from Class A and Class B/C/D to two equal divisions

Lists of schools for each division for each of these seven tournaments are now posted above, and under each sport page. The lists are based on school memberships, sport sponsorships, cooperative programs and “opt ups” in effect now or anticipated for 2006-07 as known to the MHSAA office May 12, 2006.
