Boys Soccer Finals on FOX Sports Detroit PLUS Sunday

EAST LANSING, MI - Nov. 7 - MHSAA tournament action on FOX Sports Detroit this coming week features last Saturday’s Boys Soccer Finals games, and the third week of Prep Zone football coverage.

 

On Sunday (Nov. 13), the Boys Soccer Finals will air on FOX Sports Detroit PLUS on the following schedule:

Noon – Division 4 – Allen Park Inter-City Baptist vs. Muskegon Western Michigan Christian

2 p.m. – Division 3 – Detroit Country Day vs. Hudsonville Unity Christian

4 p.m. – Division 2  - Auburn Hills Avondale vs. Spring Lake

6 p.m. – Division 1 – Canton vs. Grand Haven

 

These games will then air on Comcast Channel 900 beginning the following week.  Division 1 will first air on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.; followed by Division 2 at 9:30 p.m.  The Division 3 will first be shown on Nov. 17 at 8 p.m.; and the Division 4 finale is on at Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

 

The Prep Zone is into its third week of MHSAA Football Playoff coverage on FOXSportsDetroit.com.  Regional Final coverage this Friday (Nov. 11) at 7 p.m. has the following games on the schedule:  Walled Lake Central at Utica Eisenhower; Detroit Cass Tech at Warren DeLaSalle; Dowagiac at Lansing Catholic and Harbor Beach at Saginaw Nouvel.

 

Game Night on the MHSAA Network features a Class A District Final from last week between Fraser and Clinton Township Chippewa Valley.  Other games on Comcast Channel 900 is the rematch of East Grand Rapids and Grand Rapids Christian for a District title in the MHSAA Football Playoffs; and a boys soccer semifinal showdown between Spring Lake and Mattawan.

 

For media outlets in Comcast service areas, here are the day by day listings for the coming week of MHSAA Network programming on Channel 900.  We would appreciate it if you could run at least the Wednesday and Thursday listings, as they are the first air times for new content each week:

In addition to these high school athletic events, there were 45 other school-produced events ranging from daily newscasts, to interviews, to school board meetings posted to the MHSAA.tv Website last week.  A total of 620 events have been posted since the beginning of the school year.  A record total of 1,479  student produced athletic and non-athletic event videos were posted to MHSAA.tv during the 2010-11 school year. 

 

The MHSAA.tv Website registered a record 1.48 million pageviews during the 2010-11 school year.  In addition, there were approximately 400,000 pageviews generated by MHSAA Network content being streamed live on FoxSportsDetroit.com.

 

Watch for more schools to begin posting more content in even more sports in the weeks ahead.  Schools interested in becoming a part of the Digital Broadcasting Program should contact John Johnson at the MHSAA Office.

 

Finally – check out the MHSAASPORTS Channel on YouTube.  The channel is being populated with game highlights and feature videos from MHSAA Network telecasts. 

 

The MHSAA Network delivers coverage of regular season and MHSAA Tournament competition across multiple platforms  -- cable television, radio and the internet – to fans of high school sports across the state and around the world.  In addition to providing content to cable partners Comcast Television and Fox Sports Detroit, the MHSAA Network features two websites – MHSAA.tv and MHSAANetwork.com – where fans can click to view or listen to content; and a radio network of over 40  stations statewide which annually carry the MHSAA Basketball Finals and the commentary MHSAA Perspective, which airs for 30 weeks during the school year.
