A staple of Michigan High School Athletic Association postseason track & field events for more than three decades, Grand Rapids’ Lewis Clingman continues to serve as an easily-recognizable host of Regionals and Finals in that sport for teams from all over the Lower Peninsula each spring. But his tireless service to school sports stretches across the entire school year and is rooted in 53 years as an MHSAA-registered game official, and those contributions are being celebrated with his selection for this year’s MHSAA Vern L. Norris Award.

For the entirety of their careers, and in multiple roles, Byron Center’s Leroy Hackley Jr. and Traverse City’s Patti Tibaldi have been immersed in improving educational athletics. To celebrate their continued dedication and contributions over the years, Hackley and Tibaldi have been named honorees for the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Charles E. Forsythe Award for 2021.

Over the last 22 seasons, St. Ignace girls basketball coach Dorene Ingalls has built one of the most respected high school athletic programs in Michigan and become one of the most successful coaches in Michigan High School Athletic Association history, while also serving as one of the state’s most impactful advocates for her sport. To celebrate her many and continuing contributions, Ingalls has been named the 34th recipient of the MHSAA Women In Sports Leadership Award.
