The Michigan High School Athletic Association is looking for a group of student-athletes to be named to its Student Advisory Council beginning with the 2010-11 school year. Four boys and four girls from the Class of 2012 will be selected to a two-year term, and will meet on matters related to maintaining and promoting a proper perspective and sensible scope for high school sports in Michigan. Eight members from the Class of 2011 are already serving on the council, while eight members of the Class of 2010 are leaving the council this spring.

One of the founders of the Top-O-Michigan Officials Association, John Juday Sr. of Petoskey has been selected to receive the Michigan High School Athletic Association's Vern L. Norris Award for 2010. Juday will be presented the award at the MHSAA’s 31st annual Officials’ Awards and Alumni Banquet on May 1 at the Radisson Hotel Lansing, where 357 officials with 20, 30, 40, 45 and 50-years of service to school sports will also be honored.

A pair of athletic administrators who are giants in their respective sports are the 2010 recipients of the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Charles E. Forsythe Award.
