3-sport stardom (Muskegon Chonicle)

The MHSAA fully promotes athletes playing multiple sports, and we revel in the rich history of high school athletics in this state.

This piece on 10 of the top three-sport athletes in Muskegon area history plugs this multiple-sport idea and tells of some of the greats who have done so at incredible levels.

Jim Moyes is a foremost expert on Michigan high school athletic history. His list dates back into the early 1920s and through last spring's graduating class.

5. GIRLS SOCCER No. 5 Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett claimed a Division 4 Regional championship with a 1-0 win over No. 10 Clarkston Everest Collegiate – Oakland Press

6. GIRLS SOCCER Top-ranked Saline downed Salem 4-0 in a Division 1 Regional Final – Ann Arbor News

7. GIRLS SOCCER Emily Gorton scored both goals as No. 4 Kalamazoo Christian defeated Byron Center Zion Christian 2-0 in a Division 4 Regional Final – Kalamazoo Gazette
