One of the newest additions to the Lansing State Journal is its Michigander section, which each week highlights great reasons to enjoy life in our home state.
And last week's section declared what we've always felt -- that high school football is weaved into our communities, both big and small.
The Michigander section has a photo-blast layout that immediately draws readers, and like most any online product that's lost some in reproduction. But the message is the same -- and we're big fans of it.

Mason’s Brendan Brown is fighting for his life, against a form of cancer that has led to the amputation of a leg and soon will mean the removal of parts of his lungs. Molly Holmes hasn't joined her siblings on the Leroy Pine River wrestling team yet – wait until next year – but she plays junior varsity basketball and is one of 13 kids in a family that loves sports – a family that adopted her after five foster placements and a fight to survive no child should experience – Cadillac News
