A few more Michigan high school hockey teams faced off for the first time Wednesday, while we waved good-bye to a well-regarded coach and learned about the inspiration behind one of our football finalists.

8. GIRLS SOCCER Flint Powers Catholic upset No. 8 Frankenmuth 1-0 in a Division 3 District Semifinal – WNEM

9. BOYS LACROSSE Brighton claimed a Division 1 Regional title with a 12-5 win over Walled Lake – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

10. GIRLS SOCCER Hart advanced in its Division 3 District with a 5-4 win over Montague, scoring the game-winner with 14 seconds to play – CatchMark SportsNet
