The last Finals of the 2015 MHSAA fall season were played Saturday at Ford Field, and as of this morning teams in six winter sports are allowed to begin competition.

Football
High school football stays with those who have played the game, and Romeo’s cheering section Saturday was among those filled with players past – Macomb Daily

Flint Hamady’s Jalisha Terry not only is one of the state’s top returning basketball players; she’s also stacking up college credits as a high school senior – Flint Journal
Ice Hockey
Calumet won Friday’s matchup with rival Hancock, but the Bulldogs came back to win Saturday’s rematch in overtime as the teams split the Copper Island Classic – Houghton Daily Mining Gazette

Forget for a minute the snow of the last two days; spring has arrived for high school sports, and a number of teams got started over the weekend.
Baseball
Port Huron Northern pitcher Brett Manis picked up a memorable early highlight with 17 strikeouts in no-hitting Yale on Friday – Port Huron Times Herald
Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse improved to 3-1 with a 6-4 comeback win over Macomb Dakota at the Spring Break Tournament – Macomb Daily
Girls Tennis
Midland Dow opened with an impressive pair of wins over Division 3 powers Detroit Country Day and Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood – Midland Daily News
Track & Field
