2. VOLLEYBALL Honorable mention Grand Haven ran its District title streak to 17 with a win over honorable mention Muskegon Mona Shores in Division 1 – Grand Haven Tribune

3. VOLLEYBALL No. 2 Mendon swept No. 8 Colon to clinch a Division 4 District title – Sturgis Journal

4. VOLLEYBALL Top-ranked Hudsonville swept No. 10 Jenison to claim a third-straight District championship in Division 1 – FOX 17

5. VOLLEYBALL Honorable mention Bronson clinched its 10th-straight District title, sweeping Centreville in Division 3 – Sturgis Journal

6. VOLLEYBALL No. 4 Leland claimed its 22nd District title in program history, downing Traverse City Christian in Division 4 – Traverse City Record-Eagle

7. VOLLEYBALL No. 9 Manistique avenged last season’s District Final loss to Bark River-Harris with a sweep in Division 3 – Escanaba Daily Press

8. VOLLEYBALL No. 3 Hillsdale Academy also avenged a 2022 District Final loss, this time sweeping Camden-Frontier in Division 4 – Hillsdale Daily News

9. VOLLEYBALL Belding edged Central Montcalm 15-13 in the fifth set to lock up a Division 2 District championship – Greenville Daily News

10. VOLLEYBALL Boyne City edged Kingsley 16-14 in the fifth set to clinch a Division 2 District title – Up North Live

Northern Michigan provided us with our leading headliners Thursday as league races continued to shift especially in girls and boys basketball.

1. Girls Basketball: Sault Ste. Marie improved to 13-1 and handed St. Ignace just its second loss, 43-29 in a major Straits Area Conference matchup – MI Sports Now

2. Girls Basketball: Paige Kohler went over 1,000 career points in Suttons Bay’s 33-28 win at Lake Leelanau St. Mary – Traverse City Record-Eagle

3. Girls Basketball: Rochester moved into first place alone in the Oakland Activities Association Blue with a 33-31 win over former co-leader Berkley – Oakland Press

4. Boys Basketball: Traverse City Central pushed back into the Big North Conference race with a 50-37 win over Cadillac – Up North Live

5. Girls Basketball: Davison added a fifth win over its last seven games, 41-40 over reigning Division 3 runner-up Flint Hamady – ABC 12

6. Hockey: Division 2 No. 8 South Lyon Unified scored three goals during the third period to get past Northville 4-1 – Observer & Eccentric

7. Skiing: The Petoskey boys and Traverse City Central girls continued their dominance in the Big North Conference – Petoskey News-Review

8. Girls Basketball: Carney-Nadeau ran its winning streak to nine with a 48-25 win over Rapid River – Escanaba Daily Press
