Potential Class C contender Kent City downed expected Class A contender Muskegon 59-58 as the teams traded last-second baskets – Muskegon Chronicle

Manistee held off a comeback attempt by Traverse City St. Francis for a key 51-43 early-season victory in a meeting of top northern Lower Peninsula programs – Manistee News Advocate

2. GIRLS TENNIS Negaunee opened with a 7-1 win over West Iron County; Negaunee was second in Upper Peninsula Division 1 and West Iron second in UPD2 last season – Marquette Mining Journal

3. BOYS TENNIS Fowlerville won the opening Livingston County quad led by top singles player Lucas Anderson – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

4. BOYS TENNIS Big Rapids was first and Ludington second at the Ludington Invitational – Ludington Daily News

5. GIRLS GOLF Saline finished second among 20 teams at the East Jackson team scramble – Saline Post
