In a rematch of a 2015 Class A Quarterfinal, Waterford Kettering emerged as the victor this time over two-time reigning champion Bloomfield Hills Marian – Oakland Press
Potential Class C contender Kent City downed expected Class A contender Muskegon 59-58 as the teams traded last-second baskets – Muskegon Chronicle
Manistee held off a comeback attempt by Traverse City St. Francis for a key 51-43 early-season victory in a meeting of top northern Lower Peninsula programs – Manistee News Advocate

The Ski Finals field continued to fill Thursday, while Kalamazoo Central celebrated the return of one of the state’s top players and Freeland celebrated an incredible one-season turnaround against a league opponent.
1. Skiing: Brighton’s boys and Milford’s girls locked up Division 1 Regional championships – Livingston Daily Press & Argus
2. Girls Basketball: Morasha Wiggins scored 26 points in her first game back from a knee injury to help Kalamazoo Central to a big win – Kalamazoo Gazette
