Reigning Class D champion Powers North Central is pushing to break the MHSAA record for longest win streak and hasn’t lost in more than two seasons; it added an 87-19 opening-night win over Stephenson – Escanaba Daily Press
Battle Creek St. Philip came back from nine down at halftime to beat Mendon in their opener 56-53 – Battle Creek Enquirer

1. Girls Soccer: Unranked Troy Athens handed No. 3 Birmingham Seaholm its first and only loss of the season in a Division 1 District Semifinal – Oakland Press
