Wrestling season started Wednesday with matches all over the state, including the first of the 50th season for a highly-respected coach.

Oak Park freshman Malik Carr had 18 points and 16 rebounds off the bench in a 78-61 win over St. Clair Shores South Lake – Detroit News

The wrestling mat and hockey rink were the places to be Wednesday as multiple matchups across the Lower Peninsula pitted highly-ranked foes.
1. Wrestling: Division 3 top-ranked Dundee won a league matchup of reigning MHSAA champions, 49-17 over Division 4 No. 3 Hudson – Adrian Daily Telegram
2. Hockey: Division 1 top-ranked Detroit Catholic Central started quickly on the way to a 6-2 win over Division 2 No. 3 Trenton – Southgate News-Herald
3. Wrestling: Division 1 No. 3 Brighton earned wins over Livonia Franklin and No. 9 Westland John Glenn to finish undefeated in Kensington Lakes Activities Association matches – Livingston Daily Press & Argus
