A pair of girls basketball teams claimed league championships Monday as some of the state’s top ski teams also took big strides in one of the strongest conferences for that sport.

Bay City All Saints clinched a third straight Michigan Summit League title with a 58-38 win over Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy as Shannon Bates set the school’s scoring record – Bay City Times
Baraga edged Chassell 44-42 in a matchup of top Upper Peninsula small-school teams – Houghton Daily Mining Gazette
Jordan Kraemer became Norway’s all-time leading scorer as the undefeated Knights downed Stephenson – Iron Mountain Daily News
Waterford Our Lady edged Madison Heights Bishop Foley 40-34 to clinch the Detroit Catholic League A-North title – Oakland Press

The Petoskey boys and Traverse City West girls won Traverse City Invitational titles, which also earned them first places in Big North Conference competition – Petoskey News-Review

1. BOYS TENNIS No. 3 Maple City Glen Lake claimed three singles flights to clinch its first Regional team title since 2002, finishing just ahead of No. 3 Traverse City St. Francis in Lower Peninsula Division 4 – Traverse City Record-Eagle
2. BOYS TENNIS Holland West Ottawa and Rockford shared the championship at their LPD1 Regional – Holland Sentinel
3. GIRLS GOLF Petoskey edged Cadillac by a stroke to win their LPD2 Regional – Traverse City Record-Eagle
4. BOYS TENNIS Host and top-ranked Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood was first, Goodrich was second, and Bay City John Glenn earned its first Finals berth coming in third at their LPD3 Regional – Bay City Times
5. BOYS SOCCER Adrian Lenawee Christian edged Manchester 2-1 in a Division 4 District opener – Adrian Daily Telegram
6. BOYS SOCCER No. 12 Berkley held off Birmingham Groves 3-2 in Division 1 – Oakland Press
7. BOYS SOCCER No. 6 Grand Blanc advanced in Division 1 with a 2-0 shutout of Flushing – WJRT
8. BOYS SOCCER Battle Creek Harper Creek scored the lone goal in its Division 2 game against Marshall – Battle Creek Enquirer
9. BOYS SOCCER Midland Dow downed Midland High 4-0 in Division 1 – Midland Daily News
