The last “quiet” night of this winter season still saw a couple of key girls basketball matchups, impacting both peninsulas, as the rest of schools not yet in session prepare to resume next week.

2. BOYS TENNIS Midland repeated as champion at Saginaw Heritage’s Jim Teal Invitational – Midland Daily News
3. CROSS COUNTRY The Davison girls and Caro boys won Mike Jackson Invitational championships at Croswell-Lexington – Saginaw News
4. GIRLS GOLF Traverse City St. Francis finished 20 strokes ahead of the field to win its home invitational – Traverse City Record-Eagle
5. BOYS SOCCER Brayden Fischer scored three goals in Edwardsburg’s 4-0 win over Stevensville Lakeshore – St. Joseph Herald-Palladium
6. BOYS SOCCER Troy Athens opened with a 3-0 victory over Northville – Oakland Press
7. BOYS SOCCER Traverse City Christian won its first game as a standalone boys soccer program, 3-1 over Manistee – Traverse City Record-Eagle
