The finalists for the Kensington Lakes Activities Association girls basketball title were determined Monday night, and the Mr. Basketball candidates for this season also have been released.

Girls Basketball
Hartland earned a KLAA championship game berth against Wayne Memorial with a 49-24 win over rival Howell in the Lakes final – Livingston Daily Press & Argus
Wayne earned its berth in the KLAA final with a 55-38 win over Novi – Oakland Press
Hillman finished the regular season with its best record (18-1) and longest winning streak (18 games) in school history, thanks to a 52-39 win over Fairview – Alpena News
Sterling Heights Parkway Christian downed Warren Macomb Christian to clinch the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference Red title – Macomb Daily
Boys Basketball
The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan named six finalists for this year’s Mr. Basketball Award – Detroit Free Press
Buckley earned a share of the Northwest Conference title, remaining undefeated with an 80-69 win over Benzonia Benzie Central – Cadillac News

1. GIRLS GOLF Okemos – No. 2 in Lower Peninsula Division 1 – carded a program-record 300 to win the Capital Area Activities Conference Open by 20 strokes ahead of LPD2 top-ranked Dexter – WILX
2. VOLLEYBALL Flat Rock earned its first victory ever over Division 3 top-ranked Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central, winning in five sets – Monroe News
3. GIRLS GOLF LPD1 No. 9 Brighton won the team title and Midland Dow’s Sophia Lee and Oxford’s Katie Pill were co-medalists at the Dow Invitational – Midland Daily News
4. BOYS SOCCER Division 3 No. 14 Freeland edged No. 8 Frankenmuth, 3-2 – Saginaw News
5. VOLLEYBALL Freeland downed Division 3 honorable mention Cass City 3-1 – WNEM
6. BOYS SOCCCER Sterling Heights Stevenson avenged an earlier loss to Utica Ford with a 4-1 win – Macomb Daily
