Wednesday saw a number of state-ranked teams face off, plus the extension of an incredible soccer shutout streak in the Saginaw area. 

Baseball

Division 4 top-ranked Centreville swept Division 3 No. 6 Bronson 2-0 and 6-2  in a battle of southwestern powers – Sturgis Journal

Boys Golf

Midland’s Top Kamnark took medalist honors for the third time in Saginaw Valley League play, this time with a 2-under 70 as his team shot a 297 at Currie West – Midland Daily News

Girls Soccer

Birch Run keeper Kayln Breckenridge recorded her 11th straight shutout this season and one of her best, 1-0 over rival Frankenmuth – Saginaw News

Division 3 top-ranked Hudsonville Unity Christian hung on for a 2-0 win over Division 2 No. 12 Holland Christian – Holland Sentinel

Softball

For the second time this season, reigning Division 1 semifinalist Farmington Hills Mercy swept reigning champion Warren Regina, this time 11-4 and 6-4 in eight innings – Detroit Free Press

Track & Field

The Traverse City West boys dominated Cadillac, highlighted by a 1:29.85 school-record time in the 800 relay by Donovan Michael, Jack Bishop, Daniel Phifer and Wylie Demin – Traverse City Record-Eagle
