A giant upset in Division 1 wrestling Wednesday likely will shake up that sport’s state rankings as we approach the postseason, while an undefeated basketball team fell as another northern power continued to rise.

Division 4 No. 8 Mendon downed White Pigeon 39-24 to claim the Berrien-Cass-St. Joseph Conference title, its first in any league since 2009 – Kalamazoo Gazette
Reigning Division 1 champion and current No. 3 Hartland was upset 30-27 by unranked Walled Lake Central, which then fell to No. 10 Westland John Glenn in a double dual featuring the four Kensington Lakes Activities Association champions – Oakland Press

1. HOCKEY Top-ranked Hartland came back to force overtime and then scored quickly in the extra period to get past No. 2 Marquette 3-2 in a Division 2 Semifinal – Livingston Daily Press & Argus
