The action was sparse Monday as we continued to creep toward the start of the postseason. But a few basketball results carried special significance, starting with a notable league tournament in Michigan's largest city.
Girls Basketball

In a possible preview of the Wolverine Conference championship game, South Haven held on to down Dowagiac 68-61 – Niles Daily Star
Suttons Bay's Trevor Petroskey put up a triple-double -- 25 points, 13 rebounds, 10 steals -- to lead his team to a 64-51 win over two-loss Onekama – Traverse City Record-Eagle

Even for the best, coaching wouldn't be referred to as "easy" -- and many would argue that it's grown tougher as time commitment, financial need and parental influence all have increased.
