The action was sparse Monday as we continued to creep toward the start of the postseason. But a few basketball results carried special significance, starting with a notable league tournament in Michigan's largest city.

Detroit Renaissance and Martin Luther King will meet in the Detroit Public School League championship game after semifinal victories Monday – Detroit News

In a possible preview of the Wolverine Conference championship game, South Haven held on to down Dowagiac 68-61 – Niles Daily Star
Suttons Bay's Trevor Petroskey put up a triple-double -- 25 points, 13 rebounds, 10 steals -- to lead his team to a 64-51 win over two-loss Onekama – Traverse City Record-Eagle
