We’re at the point in our school year where there were no events played Monday – Softball Quarterfinals are today, as are half of our Girls Soccer Semifinals – but here are a few headlines to check out as we continue to move through the final week of 2018-19.

This weekend: The Baseball, Softball and Girls Soccer Finals return to Michigan State University’s Old College Field beginning Thursday, and the Greater Lansing Sports Authority fills in the details – LansingSports.org

Baseball: The Detroit Free Press spent the MLB draft with Brownstown Woodhaven pitcher Colin Czajkowski, arguably Michigan’s top player, and documents the decisions that led to his ultimately not getting drafted – this time – as he’ll go on to University of Michigan instead – Detroit Free Press

1. TRACK & FIELD Hillsdale Academy swept MITCA Division 4 championships; both the girls and boys teams entered the event ranked No. 1 – Hillsdale Daily News

2. TRACK & FIELD – The top-ranked Traverse City St. Francis girls and No. 2 Ithaca boys won MITCA Division 3 championships – Traverse City Record-Eagle | Mount Pleasant Morning Sun

3. TRACK & FIELD The No. 2 Holland Christian girls and top-ranked Frankenmuth boys won MITCA titles in Division 2 – Holland Sentinel | Saginaw News

4. TRACK & FIELD The top-ranked Rockford girls and East Kentwood boys won MITCA Division 1 titles – Athletic.net

5. TRACK & FIELD The Oak Park girls and Novi boys won Oakland County championships – Oakland Press

6. BOYS GOLF Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central – an honorable mention in Lower Peninsula Division 4 – clinched the Tri-Valley Conference Blue title by winning the final league event – Saginaw News

7. SOFTBALL Division 3 No. 9 Lansing Catholic edged Division 1 honorable mention Grand Ledge 7-6 to win the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame Softball Classic title – WILX

8. BASEBALL Division 1 No. 17 Howell finished 2-1 at the Flint Tournament of Champions, falling to Macomb Dakota but defeating No. 5 Bay City Western and Davison – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

9. BASEBALL Division 2 No. 13 Garden City downed Division 1 No. 19 Allen Park 3-0 – Southgate News-Herald

10. GIRLS SOCCER Jackson Lumen Christi shut out Leslie to open Division 4 postseason play – Jackson Citizen Patriot
