The final four of eight MHSAA girls soccer finalists were determined in Semifinals on Wednesday, and we posted previews of all 32 baseball and softball teams playing this weekend at Michigan State University.

Grosse Ile took Flint Powers Catholic nearly to the end in Division 3, but the Chargers scored on a penalty kick with 6 minutes to play to win 1-0 – Flint Journal 

Hudsonville Unity Christian will make its near-annual trip back to the MHSAA Finals thanks to a 3-0 Division 3 win over Freeland – Grand Rapids Press

Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern will return to the MHSAA Finals after a late goal helped it get past Dexter 2-1 in Division 2 – Grand Rapids Press

Pontiac Notre Dame Prep avenged its only loss this season by downing Bloomfield Hills Marian in Division 2 – Oakland Press

1. GIRLS SOCCER Walled Lake Northern clinched the Lakes Valley Conference championship with a 1-0 win over South Lyon East – Oakland Press

2. BOYS GOLF Tecumseh, No. 9 in Lower Peninsula Division 2, shot a 317 to dominate at the Lenawee County Championship – Adrian Daily Telegram

3. BASEBALL Division 1 No. 18 Sterling Heights Stevenson moved ahead of No. 11 Grosse Pointe South into the top spot alone in the Macomb Area Conference Red with a 16-2 win – Macomb Daily

4. SOFTBALL Division 4 No. 2 Mendon swept No. 10 Decatur 3-0 and 11-7 – Kalamazoo Gazette

5. BASEBALL Unranked Howell downed Division 1 No. 9 Brighton 12-2 – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

6. GIRLS SOCCER Division 2 No. 14 St. Joseph and No. 8 Stevensville Lakeshore played to a 1-1 draw – St. Joseph Herald-Palladium

7. SOFTBALL Division 2 honorable mention Detroit Country Day handed Pontiac Notre Dame Prep its first defeat, 10-0 – Oakland Press

8. SOFTBALL Division 1 No. 10 (tied) Hartland pitchers threw a perfect game and no-hitter in sweeping Salem – Livingston Daily Press & Argus

9. GIRLS SOCCER Midland edged Division 3 No. 7 Essexville Garber 1-0 – Midland Daily News

10. BASEBALL Bay City Central moved past Grand Blanc in an extra-inning walk-off win and then tied the Bobcats in the second game – Bay City Times
