Few teams were back in action Monday after a championship-filled weekend, but there are still a couple of intriguing headlines to report – in baseball, and also boys basketball.

Holt ace Jesse Heikkinen struck out 13 in helping the Rams down Grand Ledge 2-0 and advance to the Capital Diamond Classic championship game against DeWitt – Lansing State Journal
In the late Diamond Classic semifinal, DeWitt came back from a 2-0 first-inning deficit to beat Fowlerville 10-4 – Lansing State Journal

2. GIRLS GOLF Frankenmuth – No. 5 in Lower Peninsula Division 3 – clinched the Tri-Valley Conference Red title with a win in the final league jamboree – Saginaw News
3. BOYS SOCCER Hemlock clinched the Tri-Valley Conference Blue championship with a 1-0 win over Saginaw Valley Lutheran – WNEM
4. GIRLS TENNIS Marquette repeated as Great Northern Conference Tournament champion – Upper Michigan’s Source
5. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Division 2 No. 4 Parma Western held on to claim a five-set win over No. 7 Marshall – Jackson Citizen Patriot
6. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Division 3 No. 10 Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central came back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Division 2 honorable mention Flat Rock in five – Monroe News
7. GIRLS GOLF Alpena carded a 374 to win the Cadillac Invitational – Cadillac News
8. BOYS SOCCER Division 3 No. 5 Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian defeated No. 14 Grand Rapids Covenant Christian 6-0 – WOOD TV
9. BOYS SOCCER Sterling Heights Stevenson extended its lead in the Macomb Area Conference White with a 5-2 win over Clinton Township Chippewa Valley – Macomb Daily
10. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Stevensville Lakeshore and St. Joseph traded sets before the Lancers completed the win in five – St. Joseph Herald-Palladium
