Golf, soccer and volleyball were among sports that made headlines across the state Monday afternoon, but you’ll find the most interesting read on today’s list at the bottom as Midland explains a different sort of practice it will take on Thursday night.
1. Girls Golf: Flint Powers Catholic shot a 335 to win its invitational – Midland Daily News

3. Girls Golf: Durand defeated Chesaning, Byron and Webberville with a 204 highlighted by Emme Lantis’ school record-tying 37 – Owosso Argus-Press
4. Boys Soccer: Alpena earned a 1-0 win over Bay City John Glenn in its first game on its new field – Alpena News
5. Boys Soccer: Gladwin pushed its Northern Michigan Soccer League winning streak to 55 with a big win over Big Rapids Crossroads – Midland Daily News

1. GIRLS GOLF Traverse City St. Francis’ Grace Slocum continued her incredible play with a course record in winning the Petoskey Invitational by 10 strokes; Petoskey won the team title by four strokes – Traverse City Record-Eagle
2. GIRLS GOLF Grand Rapids Catholic Central carded a 339 to win the Big Rapids Invitational – Ludington Daily News
