The Spring Lake girls golf, Port Huron Northern boys tennis and Leland volleyball teams were among the state-ranked who stood up to local challenges Monday.

Girls Golf
Division 3 No. 4 Spring Lake continued to extend a big lead in the Ottawa-Kent Conference Blue with a 34-stroke win at Monday’s league jamboree – Grand Haven Tribune
Boys Tennis
Port Huron Northern, ranked No. 10 in Division 1, got past Division 3 No. 7 St. Clair 6-2 in a matchup of top programs from the eastern shore – Port Huron Times Herald
Volleyball
Class D No. 3 Leland, also the reigning champion in that class, remains a favorite and showed it with wins over Traverse City Central and Class C No. 4 Traverse City St. Francis – Traverse City Record-Eagle

1. VOLLEYBALL Division 3 No. 8 Traverse City St. Francis defeated top-ranked Roscommon 2-1, and also took a four-set loss against Midland Dow – Traverse City Record-Eagle
2. BOYS SOCCER Division 3 No. 4 Frankenmuth came back from a two-goal halftime deficit to defeat Freeland 4-2 – Saginaw News
3. BOYS SOCCER Division 4 No. 7 Royal Oak Shrine Catholic improved to 8-1 with a shutout of No. 10 Clarkston Everest Collegiate – Oakland Press
4. GIRLS GOLF Grand Blanc – No. 6 in Lower Peninsula Division 1 – and Midland Dow’s Sophia Lee continued to dominate the Saginaw Valley League – Midland Daily News
5. VOLLEYBALL Division 3 No. 6 Kingsley downed Charlevoix in a matchup of teams off to strong starts – MI Sports Now
6. BOYS SOCCER Division 1 No. 13 Grand Haven and Hudsonville played to a scoreless draw – Grand Haven Tribune
7. VOLLEYBALL Division 3 No. 9 Hanover-Horton improved to 5-1-1 with a sweep of Michigan Center – Jackson Citizen Patriot
8. GIRLS SWIMMING & DIVIING Allen Park earned victories over Riverview and Dundee – Southgate News-Herald
9. BOYS TENNIS Cadillac swept Alpena in the Big North Conference – Cadillac News
