#TBT: Stealing Without Guilt

May 14, 2015

By Geoff Kimmerly
Second Half editor

Former Jackson Citizen Patriot sports editor Tommy Cameron penned a commentary during the late 1980s titled "Stealing Without Guilt" on attendance at high school sporting events. It was his plea to parents missing out on the special moments experienced by their children that he had the opportunity to cover daily.

His column made an appearance in an MHSAA Finals program and then as the inspiration for this piece broadcast during MHSAA Finals, brought to you as this week's Throwback Thursday selection.

This Week in High School Sports: 9/9/16

September 9, 2016

The latest edition of "This Week In High School Sports" features Benton Harbor’s football team, discusses rules designed to protect the knee in football and closes with a commentary about rules differences on the gridiron between high school and the college/pro levels.

The 5-minute program, powered by MI Student Aid, leads off each week with feature stories from around the state from the MHSAA’s Second Half or network affiliates. "Be The Referee," a 60-second look at the fine art of officiating, comes in the middle of the show; and is followed by a closing MHSAA "Perspective."
