Haslett and Detroit Country Day advanced to Saturday's MHSAA Class B Final with Semifinal wins Friday at the Breslin Center.

Haslett 63, Benton Harbor 52
VIKINGS IN TRANSITION - Late in the game, Haslett scores in transition as Megan Mowid takes the pass from Kenzie DeCook and is fouled.
KALABRYA FOR TWO - Off a steal, Benton Harbor's Kalabrya Gondrezick scores on a jumper against Haslett. She had a game high 20 points; however, the Vikings prevailed in this Class B Semifinal.

Detroit Country Day 69, Goodrich 39
IT'S RAINING THREES - Destiny Pitts of Detroit Country Day hit six 3-pointers in the Yellowjackets’ 69-39 win over Goodrich in the Class B Semifinals. Pitts finished the game with 28 points.
SEVILLIAN FROM THE CORNER - Goodrich was led against Detroit Country Day by Alexis Sevillian, who pumped in 16 points, including this trey from the corner to end the first quarter.

Below is this week's segment – Basketball Goaltending - Listen
In basketball, what’s the difference between goaltending and defensive basket interference?
Goaltending is when a defensive player touches the ball when it is on its way down toward the basket, or after the ball has hit the backboard and is in a downward trajectory towards the hoop.
Defensive basket interference is when a defender touches the rim or net while the ball is within or on the cylinder. However, if the defender touches only the net and does not affect the shot in any way, then basket interference is not called.
In both instances – goaltending and basket interference – the outcome is treated like a made basket: two points to the offense unless the shot came from behind the 3-point arc, and then it’s worth three points.
