Eight student-athletes who will be juniors at their schools during the 2025-26 academic year have been selected to serve two-year terms on the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Student Advisory Council.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association is seeking student-athletes to become members of its Student Advisory Council beginning with the 2025-26 school year.

Debby Karabees-Betts has dedicated more than 50 years to serving high school and middle school students, often in several roles simultaneously to provide opportunities to learn and compete both academically and athletically.

Classifications for Michigan High School Athletic Association elections and postseason tournaments for the 2025-26 school year have been announced, with enrollment breaks for postseason tournaments posted to each sport’s page on the MHSAA Website.

The Representative Council of the Michigan High School Athletic Association approved a series of proposals during its Winter Meeting on March 21 in East Lansing that lay the groundwork for the inaugural MHSAA-sponsored girls field hockey season that will be played this fall.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has selected 13 student-athletes from Class A member schools to receive scholarships through the MHSAA/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award program. 

Williamston High School has been withdrawn from the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 Team Wrestling Tournament and forfeited its Regional Final win over Adrian Madison from Feb. 12 after self-reporting the participation of an ineligible athlete in the match.
