Shaelyn Perry ♦ South Lyon United

Perry, a midfielder, had three goals and an assist as South Lyon United defeated Hartland 6-3 in the Division 1 Final at University of Michigan. The win gave the Lions their first MHSAA Finals championship in the sport, after they had finished Division 1 runners-up in 2008, and also capped an undefeated season at 21-0.

A student at South Lyon High School, Perry finished her season with 49 goals and 22 assists. She made an unforgettable impact not only in the championship game, but leading up with four goals in her team’s 12-9 Regional Final win over Brighton – which had won the last three Division 1 titles – and she also found the net four times in the 12-6 Semifinal win over Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood.
