Boys Basketball
Winter comes to a close: And with a flurry. Saginaw won its first MHSAA title since 2008, Lansing Sexton repeated in Class B, Flint Beecher won its first title since 1987 and Southfield Christian won its first title in school history after going 1-19 two seasons ago. 2. BASEBALL Division 1 No. 9 New Boston Huron defeated Division 2 No. 10 Flat Rock 5-1 in their first of two regular-season matchups – Southgate News-Herald
3. SOFTBALL Royal Oak Shrine Catholic rebounded from last season’s five losses to Allen Park Cabrini with a doubleheader sweep – Southgate News-Herald
4. SOFTBALL Division 2 honorable mention Carlton Airport dealt Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central its first loss, 9-6 – Monroe News
5. BOYS LACROSSE Lake Orion held on to defeat Oxford 11-8 – Oakland Press
6. BASEBALL Pinconning opened its season with a sweep of Bay City Central – Bay City Times
