Seven MHSAA member schools participating in the School Broadcast Program have been recognized by the NFHS Network for demonstrating excellent broadcasting skills and promotion of their events during the 2016-17 school year.

Calumet and Montrose High Schools have been recognized as Elite Schools for excelling in both production and promotion. Fifty schools nationally were granted Elite status. Garnering Select School recognition for production were Comstock Park, East Lansing, Lake Orion, Marquette and Negaunee. Nationally, 101 schools earned Select honors.

The Montrose and Lake Orion SBP crews are scheduled to live stream all nine of their respective schools’ regular-season football games in 2017; and this week, Montrose is at Corunna for a battle of two 3-1 teams in a key Genesee Area Conference Red game. Lake Orion (1-3) is hosting Southfield Arts & Technology (2-2).

Lake Orion also will stream an Oakland Activities Association showdown in girls volleyball next Tuesday (Sept. 26) as it hosts Clarkston in a battle of two top-10 Class A teams in the statewide coaches rankings.

In its ninth year, the School Broadcast Program gives members an opportunity to showcase excellence in their schools by creating video programming of athletic and non-athletic events, with students gaining skills in announcing, camera operation, directing/producing and graphics. The program also gives schools the opportunity to raise money through advertising and viewing subscriptions.

Here’s this week’s MHSAA.tv schedule of video streams being produced by SBP members:

Tuesday, Sept. 19

Wednesday, Sept. 20

Thursday, Sept. 21

Friday, Sept. 22
